Frequently asked
Everything people write to us about before their first bottle — how an oil is worn, how long it holds, what the dollar sample covers, and how an order actually reaches you.
Is this an oil or a spray?
A high-concentration perfume oil. It is applied to the pulse points rather than sprayed into the air, which is why a 6 ML bottle outlasts a 100 ML eau de toilette. Roll-on and dab applicators are included with every vessel.
Is it alcohol-free?
Yes. There is no denatured alcohol in any Rayhan bottle. Every bottle is one hundred per cent concentrate, so there is no alcohol bite on the first breath, no sting on skin that has just been shaved, and nothing that flashes off in the first ten minutes.
How long does it actually last on skin?
Twelve hours or more, and often longer on a cold day. Dab on warm skin — inner wrists, the hollow of the throat, behind the ears — and do not rub your wrists together, because the friction breaks the top notes and shortens the opening. On wool or a scarf an oil is often still legible days later.
How is it different from the designer original?
It is built from the same note structure but weighted toward oud, amber and musk — the base is heavier and the drydown lasts considerably longer. It is an interpretation blended in our own atelier, not a decant, and it is not sold as the original.
Can I try before I buy a full bottle?
Every scent in the house is available as a $1 sample. Order as many as you like; the cost of your samples comes off your first full bottle. With 154 oils listed in the scent index, sampling three or four before committing to a 12 ML is the way most people start.
How long does shipping take, and when is it free?
2-4 business days within the US, free on orders over $60. Everything ships from the Jacksonville counter. Bespoke oils composed in the Fragrance Bar are blended to order and ship within 7 days.
What if something arrives damaged or is not what I expected?
Write to libsiofficial@gmail.com with your order and what went wrong. Because every vial is poured to order rather than pulled off a shelf, we handle these one at a time instead of under a blanket policy — tell us what happened and we will put it right.
Can I layer two oils together?
Yes, and it is how most of the house is worn. Lay the heavier oil down first — a musk or an amber — let it settle for a minute, then dab the sharper one over it. Musk Al Tahara under an oud softens the saffron strike into something wearable at a desk; an amber musk over the same oud stretches the drydown past a full day. Keep it to two oils; a third usually muddies the middle.
How should I store it?
Cool, dark and upright, with the cap closed tight — a drawer rather than a windowsill or a steamy bathroom shelf. Heat and daylight are what flatten a bright opening. With no alcohol to evaporate, the oils keep for years, and oud and amber typically deepen with age. If an oil thickens or clouds in cold weather, warm the vial in your hand for a minute and it returns.
Will the oil stain clothing?
Skin is the safest place for it, and the place it smells best. The darker oud oils carry real colour, so keep them off pale silk and unlined linen; if you want to scent fabric, put a small amount on the inside of a cuff or a coat lining where a mark cannot show.
Can I have a bottle engraved?
Yes — engraving is offered in the Fragrance Bar on any vessel: up to 18 characters, cut by hand before the vial is filled, at no extra charge. Names, dates and short Arabic or English lines all work; the cut cannot be undone, so check the spelling before you add it to the bag.
How long does a bespoke blend take?
A blend composed in the Fragrance Bar is mixed after you order — the oils are combined, left to marry, then poured and engraved — and it ships within 7 days. If it is a gift with a date attached, say so in your order note and we will tell you honestly whether it will land in time.
Where can I smell these in person?
At the counter: 3507 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32216. The full shelf is there and you are welcome to wear something for an hour before deciding. We do not publish fixed opening hours — call (904) 881-1138 before you drive over and we will tell you when someone is in.
